The recent case of a Porsche crash involving a minor that tragically killed two people in Pune has taken a dramatic turn following a wave of social media outrage. The 17-year-old driver, initially granted bail within 15 hours by the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), faced lenient bail conditions that sparked widespread public anger. The bail terms, which included writing a reflective essay and working with traffic police, were perceived as too lenient given the gravity of the charges.
In response to the backlash, the Juvenile Justice Board in Pune revoked the minor’s bail and ordered him to be held in an observation home. Furthermore, the board is now contemplating whether to try the teenager as an adult, which could result in a more severe sentence if he is convicted.
The father of the minor involved in the luxury vehicle accident has been sent to police custody until May 24. The Juvenile Justice Board also issued a notice to the 17-year-old, requiring him to appear before them on Wednesday.

The tragic accident claimed the lives of two young IT professionals, Ashwini Koshta and Aneesh Awadhia, both from Madhya Pradesh. The police have also sought the custody of the bar staff who served liquor to the accused teenager and his friend.
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar provided an update on the case, stating, “We had filed a review application before the Juvenile Justice Board, requesting that the accused be tried as an adult and that he be sent to a remand home.”
He added, “The operative order was communicated to us by the Juvenile Justice Board, and the accused was sent to the remand home for 14 days until June 5. Orders regarding him being tried as an adult will follow in due course.” With inputs from ANI.
