Anand Mahindra, Chairperson, Mahindra & Mahindra, is famous for sharing uplifting stories and promoting innovation and technology on social media. Recently, continuing the trend, he shared an amazing achievement by a 73-year-old Indian woman. The woman has managed to get a whopping eleven driving licenses for different types of vehicles.
Sharing a post on his X (formerly known as Twitter) platform, Mahindra wrote “An insatiable appetite for life. And a desire to leave behind her footprint—or her foot on as many pedals as possible. Age is truly just a number for her. She’s my Monday Motivation.”

The post is about Radhamani Amma, India’s only woman with 11 driving licenses. Hailing from Kerala, she can legally drive cars and heavy vehicles in the country besides also operating heavy duty movers such as JCB and cranes. Driving licenses in India are classified into several categories based on weight and capacity and includes two-wheelers, cars, light and heavy goods vehicles, buses, and even specialized machinery.

After her husband’s tragic accident in 2004, Radhamani Amma stepped up to support her children by managing the family’s driving school. Inspired by her late husband, who founded the A-Z Driving School in Thoppumpady in the 1970s, she obtained her first licenses for driving a bus and a truck in 1988. In 2021, she added a license for transporting hazardous goods to her impressive collection.
