Congress leader Rahul Gandhi insisted on Thursday that Narendra Modi would fail to secure a third term in office as votes were counted on June 4. The Wayanad MP also claimed that the ongoing Lok Sabha elections were ‘slipping’ from the PM’s hands as polling continued. He described youngsters as the strength of India and assured that the INDIA bloc would start working to give them 30 lakh jobs August 15 after coming to power.

“Election is slipping from the hands of Narendra Modi and he is not becoming the PM again. He has decided to divert your attention in the next 4-5 days. Unemployment is the biggest issue. PM Modi had said he will give jobs to 2 crore youths, but that did not happen. He brought demonetisation and implemented wrong GST. He only worked for people like Adani,” Gandhi asserted in a video message.

The Raebareli Lok Sabha candidate said the Opposition bloc would introduce the ‘Bharti Bharosa Scheme’ to boost employment if it won the elections.

“Youngsters of the country…the INDIA government is going to be formed on June 4 and we guarantee that by August 15, we will start the recruitment process for 30 lakh vacant government posts. Do not get misled by Narendra Modi’s false propaganda, stick to your issues. Listen to INDIA, choose jobs, not hate,” he tweeted.

The Congress leader also accused the Narendra Modi-led government of ‘giving’ several infrastructure projects — such as ports, airports and defence contracts — to the Adani group over the past 10 years. The remarks came less than a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked why Rahul Gandhi was not mentioning the names of ‘Adani-Ambani’ in his speeches after the polls were announced.
